Bhopal, Jan 27 (IANS) The Congress has taken a serious view of the altercation between two Madhya Pradesh party leaders at its district office in Indore where Chief Minister Kamal Nath was to arrive for a Republic Day event.
A meeting of the party’s state disciplinary Committee has been called on the issue.
Congress state Vice President and organisation in-charge Chandraprabhash Shekhar said on Monday, “A meeting of the State Discipline Committee has been called on Tuesday. Matters related to discipline will be discussed in this meeting. All cases of indiscipline will be considered. Many leaders have apologised in the past.”
On the latest case of a fight between the two Congress leaders in Indore, Shekhar said, “The incident in Indore is unfortunate. If the district unit reports in writing, it will be considered.”
There was a scuffle between two Congress leaders Devendra Yadav and Chandrakant Kunjir during the Republic Day celebration at the Congress office in Indore.
The event was also attended by Chief Minister Nath. The incident occurred before the Chief Minister arrived.
