Bollywood actress Vidya Balan reached Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh on November 8 to shoot ‘Sherni’, the same day state forest minister Vijay Shah met Balan. After the Forest Minister invited Vidya Balan for dinner, she became a bit uncomfortable and she turned down the offer of the Minister.
When the production team of ‘Sherni’ went to shoot on the second day, District Forest Officer GK Barkade of Balaghat South stopped the vehicles of the team saying that only two vehicles would go inside. On this, when the matter reached the level of state government, it was decided to allow all the vehicles inside.
For the uninitiated, the production unit of the film took the approval of shooting from 20 October to 21 November. When Vidya Balan arrived for the shoot, the forest department expressed their desire to meet the actress. The meeting between the actress and the minister was scheduled between 11 am and 12 pm on November 8.
After this, at four in the evening, the Forest Minister Shah had to leave from Balaghat to Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve District Chandrapur in Maharashtra. He planned to stay overnight in Tadoba, but stayed at the guest house of the Bharveli mine. Since Vidya Balan stayed in Gondia, Maharashtra, she refused to have dinner with the minister.
The rejection of the minister’s offer resulted in the DFO stopping the vehicles of the unit when film production people reached the site the next day. After this, the information of this attitude of the forest department reached the state government, immediately after this the DFO was directed and shooting started.
Forest Minister Vijay Shah said that the meeting with Vidya Balan was correct, but the dinner was arranged by the district administration. The stoppage of the vehicles was done because two generators used to go during the shooting, but they tried to take several carts containing the generator into the forest, which were stopped by the DFO.
