With support from the United Nations and more than 300 volunteers, Afroz Shah, a lawyer from Mumbai has been able to remove 5 million kgs trash from Versova beach in Mumbai, since he first started the drive back in 2015.

Shah on Sunday shared the latest photograph of the beach on his Twitter handle and the beach looks far from recognisable now.

On being asked about how long his journey had been, Shah replied ‘85 weeks and 5 million kg of garbage and plastic’, as per media inputs.
