New Delhi: The Supreme Court has expressed displeasure over why the former Social Welfare Minister of Bihar in Nitish Kumar cabinet, Manju Verma is not arrested in Muzaffarpur Shelter Home Case.

SC said “all is not well in Bihar. The former minister goes in hiding and the government is unable to trace and has failed to arrest her after her bail plea is rejected.”

Slamming the Bihar government the Supreme Court asked, “Is she above the law?”

The bench asked the advocate Ranjit Kumar, appearing for Bihar government, “Why she has not been arrested till now? What were you doing till now? You let us know about the details.”

Chandershekhar Verma, husband of Manju Verma has surrendered before the court on Monday in connection to the Muzaffarpur Shelter Home Case.

However, The Patna High Court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Manju Verma on October 9, against her arrest by CBI, who is probing the case.
