A team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) reached the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus to carry out probe into the missing student Najeeb Ahmed’s case. The premier investigative agency had filed an FIR in the case on June 2.
Notably, Najeeb is missing since October 16, 2016. He was last seen at his hostel in JNU campus by his roommate. The case was transferred to the CBI by the Delhi High Court after Najeeb’s mother Fatima Nafees approached it.
As per his roommate, Najeeb had an argument with students affiliated with ABVP. He was also injured in the incident.
Reportedly, Najeeb called his mother the same day of the incident and told her that something wrong had happened. Though his mother rushed to Delhi to meet Najeeb, but by the time she reached he had been disappeared.
Since then, Fatima has been fighting and protesting against Najeeb’s disappearance with the help of JNUSU members and other university students.
