Namita Thapar’s Partial Exit: Shark Tank made its market debut in India in 2021, offering a useful forum for a wide variety of entrepreneurs to present their companies. Ranodeep and Vijaya’s is a noteworthy success story from the programme; it is currently acknowledged as the biggest airport shop in India. After landing a deal on the programme, their brand has performed remarkably well over the previous two years, setting the stage for the first-ever Shark exit with a 3.5x return on investment.

The success of this business, which was founded as a venture by Ranodeep Saha in his first year of BTech and subsequently joined by Vijaya Kumar TR as a Co-Founder, is evidence of the chances and recognition that Shark Tank India has provided to budding entrepreneurs in the nation.

Over 10,000 distinctive handcrafted items and décor, including Kulhads, copper bottles, cups, and plates, as well as stationery, jewellery, and accessories, are available for purchase at the airport retail stores. Over 10,000 local artisans who work for the company produce these items.

Notably, the majority of these artists are female, and they daily devote their love, passion, labour, and attention into creating exquisite goods. In addition to supporting creative aspirations, the firm actively works to improve the lives of its workers. Over 8,000 craftsmen have seen a significant 180% boost in their income as a consequence of this admirable cause, helping to fund the education of over 1,000 youngsters.

According to Namita Thapar, “Rano is a unique creator who embodies modesty, tenacity, and an unrelenting commitment for assisting artists. When he told me about his entrepreneurial endeavor when I first met them in Kolkata, his parents’ pride in him really moved me. One narrative to be on the lookout for is “picture abhi baaki hai.”

The Reason

“This is the first Shark Tank India exit for any shark from the show,” Namita continued. When I used to travel to the airport and show my industrialist friends the firm, they would all tell me if we earn money in Shark Tank or whether we simply do it for fun. Everyone had told me, “aree yeh toh CSR hai, ismein thodi paise banenge.” They were in 4 stores when Rano pitched, and now they are in 50. This goes beyond a simple increase in sales. One of the few businesses that is pact-positive is this one.

According to Vijaya Kumar TR, “Namita Ma’am has been a driving force for us; she has met with us several times to offer priceless insights into our entire approach. Her knowledge in marketing and pricing in particular has been crucial to our rapid expansion.” After Namita’s partial departure, everyone was taken aback. The new season is having a great time with fans.
