Actor Zaira Wasim, of Dangal fame, had a narrow escape from an accident, after the car she was travelling in skidded off the road and fell into the Dal Lake, in Srinagar on Thursday evening.
Zaira, 16, was travelling with her boyfriend when their car fell into the Dal Lake. They were rescued from the lake by locals.
“Locals immediately rescued her and her companion. She escaped unhurt, but her companion sustained injuries in the accident,” a local said.
The incident happened around 9 pm on Boulevard Road in Srinagar. Officials said that the vehicle in which she was travelling belongs to a politician.
The politician was not in the city when the incident took place, the officials said.
According to locals, the driver lost control over the car as the vehicle was moving at a high speed.
