The coastal road provides connections between key locations in Navi Mumbai which enable residents to travel within the city and reach the airport. Earlier in March, the City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) commenced the process of construction. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also stated that several projects will be announced in the upcoming months to improve the travel experience in the city.
