A day after endorsing Ajit Pawar, Amol Kolhe, an NCP representative, declared his support for party leader Sharad Pawar on Monday. Kolhe, a Lok Sabha representative from Shirur, was present at the Raj Bhavan on Sunday for the oath-taking ceremony of Ajit Pawar and eight other new NDA members.

“When there is a war between mind and heart, listen to your heart. Perhaps the mind sometimes forgets morality… but the heart never…I’m with Saheb,” Kolhe said in a tweet on Monday.

Ajit Pawar and eight NCP MLAs joined the Shinde-Fadnavis government in Maharashtra in a dramatic turn of events. Ajit Pawar, who was dissatisfied with the party leadership regarding his position, stated that virtually all party MLAs supported him and that he had informed Sharad Pawar. However, Pawar claimed ignorance and that the majority of MLAs supported him.

The NCP has filed a petition with the Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar, seeking the disqualification of Ajit Pawar and eight other MLAs who took oath as ministers in the government led by Eknath Shinde on Sunday.

The disciplinary committee of the NCP has also voted to disqualify the nine MLAs. After enacting the resolution, the committee chair, Jaiprakash Dandegaonkar, submitted a report to Sharad Pawar late Sunday evening.
