NEET PG Result 2019 topper update: Gujarat’s Ashraf Kesrani got 1006 out of 1200 marks to secure the all-India rank (AIR) 1 in NEET 2019, declared by the National Testing Agency showed on Thursday.
Ashraf, a student of Baroda Medical College, is the first in his family to become a doctor.
Talking to media, Ashraf said, “My parents were a great moral support to me while I was preparing for the exam. I am happy that I have fulfilled this dream.”
“Right now my aim is to pursue his MD medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College of New Delhi. After completing my studies, I want to be a good doctor and also take care of the poor and the needy by serving them free of cost,” he added.
This year, 148000 candidates appeared for NEET 2019 held on January 6.
The official data showed out of over 78, 660 students have qualified the exam.
Last year’s statistics
The highest number of students who cleared NEET 2018 were from Uttar Pradesh, where 76,778 candidates qualified, followed by Kerala at 72,682 and 70,184 aspirants from Maharashtra.
