NEET UG 2023: Top 5 Medical Colleges of India

Top 5 Medical Colleges of India: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will shortly release the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2023 answer key and results. Candidates will be able to view their scores on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, once they have been released.

Before the NTA releases the NEET UG 2023 results, examine the top five medical colleges in India, as determined by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2022.

Top 5 Medical Colleges of India:

1) AIIMS Delhi

With a total score of 91.60, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi has earned the top spot on the list of Indian medical schools. AIIMS Delhi also topped the rankings for the year 2021. The well-known medical institution is administered by the AIIMS Act of 1956 and operates independently under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

2) Post Graduate Institute for Medical Education and Research

Chandigarh is home to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), a public medical university. It has been designated as a ‘Institute of National Importance’ and was ranked second in the NIRF 2022 medical rankings with a score of 79. PGIMER also held the second position in 2021.

The institute was founded in 1962 within the former province of Punjab. It was designated as a “Institute of National Importance” by a 1967 act of Congress. Admission to postdoctoral and postgraduate programmes is administered twice a year based on the entrance examination score.

3) Christian Medical School

Last year’s NIRF medical classification placed the Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore in third place with a score of 72.84 on an aggregate scale. CMC Vellore, founded in 1900, has ranked third in the NIRF Medical rankings for the past three years (2022, 2021, and 2020).

4) NIMHANS, Bangalore

Bengaluru’s National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences is another medical institution that has maintained its position in the NIRF rankings over the past three years. Since 2020, NIMHANS Bangalore has occupied the fourth position. This time around, the institute earned a total score of 71.56.

Founded in 1847, this ‘Institute of National Importance’ operates independently under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

5) Banaras Hindu University (BHU)

This time, the Banaras Hindu University has risen in the NIRF Medical rankings. In 2020 and 2021, the medical institute was ranked sixth, but in 2022, with an aggregate score of 68.12, it climbed to the fifth position. The 1916-founded institute is renowned for its medical sciences programmes.
