Then the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress stepped in with political backing. Her claims came just a few days after the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the re-examination results and Arya said her score went through unexplained changes after updates were made to her OMR response sheet.

As per Arya Singh, a NEET UG aspirant from Kanpur, her score showed 609 marks at first, but then later it allegedly fell to 167 marks after some changes were made to the uploaded OMR response sheet. She has shared screenshots and supporting documents on social media and stated that the score changed multiple times within a short period.

In the video appeal, Arya said, “I had checked my OMR sheet after it was corrected and my score was 609. On the result day, I first saw 540 marks, and then within two hours it became 167. I have all the screenshots, my corrected OMR sheet and every document. I only want my result to be verified fairly.”
The current score displayed against her application, according to the documents cited in media reports, is 167 marks, corresponding to an All India Rank of 12,52,036 and a category rank of 3,67,585.
Singh has said she has submitted complaints to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Union Education Ministry, and the National Testing Agency, requesting verification of her original OMR sheet and a detailed investigation into the evaluation process.
Opposition Parties Raise the Issue
The controversy quickly moved into the political arena, with leaders from the AAP and the Congress amplifying Singh’s claims on social media and demanding accountability from the examination authorities.

Opposition leaders argued that the allegations deserve an independent inquiry, particularly because millions of students depend on the credibility of the NEET examination system.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), AAP said, “National Trauma Agency The country is asking for an answer- Is this document created by AI?”, whereas the Congress party said, “Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan ji… Is this the ‘system’ you arranged the air force for to conduct Re-NEET?”

NTA Has Warned Against Fake OMR Claims
While Singh’s complaint continues to attract attention, the NTA has separately stated that it has detected instances of AI-generated and manipulated OMR sheets circulating online. The agency has warned that legal action will be taken against individuals found sharing fabricated documents intended to mislead candidates or create confusion.
The agency has not, however, linked Arya Singh’s allegations to those cases, and there is currently no official confirmation regarding the authenticity of the documents she has shared.
What Happens Next?
With political parties demanding answers, and Arya Singh, trying to get official verification of her response sheet, the spotlight is now on whether the National Testing Agency will issue a clarification or start off a formal review.
Until there is an official response, Singh’s allegations are basically still what the candidate says and they haven’t been independently verified. Any additional step by the NTA or the Union Education Ministry, could turn out to be pretty significant for candidates waiting on clarity around the integrity of the NEET UG Re-Examination 2026 process.
