India recorded more than one lakh Covid-19 cases in a span of 24 hours on Sunday, the highest single-day rise in infections since the pandemic began last year.

Bollywood actor-model Neha Dhupia who seems to be travelling from Delhi to Mumbai has shared a snap of overcrowded Delhi airport on Sunday.

In the picture shared by the actor, people can be seen flouting the basic social distancing norms at the airport and many are not wearing their masks properly.

Expressing her deep disappointment, Neha wrote on Twitter, “morning at airport…people jumping queues, explanation – hum late ho rahe hai (We are getting late and we woke up early to stand in line, masks half worn (on chin) explanation – comfortable nahi hai (not comfortable), we wear our (masks) with utmost caution. Buck up people let’s be better for ourselves n everyone around us.”

The nation is currently going through the second wave of the deadly coronavirus that originated from Wuhan, China in 2020. Alone with the general public, several celebrities have contracted the infection. Earlier today, Akshay Kumar has been hospitalised after testing positive on Sunday.

Actor Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal were tested positive on Monday.

Meanwhile, India recorded more than one lakh Covid-19 cases in a span of 24 hours on Sunday, the highest single-day rise in infections since the pandemic began last year. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is yet to announce the cumulative Covid-19 tally in the country for Sunday.

The previous high was achieved on September 16 last year, when 97,894 positive cases were reported. With Sunday’s tally, nearly 1.25 crore people in India have been infected with Covid-19, with the active caseload crossing the 7-lakh mark.
