JioHotstar Releases

Jio-Hotstar has already had one of its best weeks, and the reasons are not far to seek, the international franchises are combined with Indian storytelling which resonates with the Indian culture. The release that garnered the most discussions is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, a fantasy series taking place in the land of Westeros. The series is inspired by George R.R. Martin’s Dunk and Egg novellas and offers a new exciting way into the world of fantasy since it lays emphasis on character-driven storytelling and not on large-scale battles.

Another movie coming out this week is Him, a psychological thriller where sports ambition and dark suspense intersect, whereas Gustaakh Ishq brings the allure of 1990s romance to life again through poetry, nostalgia, and emotional conflict. Meanwhile, a drama dubbed Space Gen: Chandrayaan, which is based on India’s lunar mission, adds an earthy drama by portraying the scientists behind the success and personal sacrifices that shaped the journey.

Prime Video’s Releases

This week’s Prime Video new additions are mostly suspense and human drama. Steal, which is a high-stakes crime thriller focused on a meticulously planned pension fund robbery, is the main attraction of the platform’s offerings, combining moral dilemmas with tight storytelling.

Still, regional content keeps on being the main focus as Cheekatilo, a Telugu crime series based on real events, is about a true-crime podcaster whose investigation into a serial killer starts to involve him so much that he risks his life. The week ends with It’s Not Like That, a moving drama about modern relationships, mixed families and emotional healing, which is a quieter but deeply relatable watch.

ZEE5 and Apple TV+

ZEE5 strengthens its regional portfolio with Sirai, a Tamil courtroom drama that looks at justice, morals and flaws in the system through the prism of intense legal battles. This show is added to ZEE5’s roster of content that is based more on strong acting than on socially relevant themes.

Apple TV+ offers a taste of world-class drama with the second season of Drops of God, the first season of which was critically acclaimed and revolved around a family feud, inheritance and the rarefied world of fine wine. The new season not only raises the emotional stakes but also broadens the narrative of the series worldwide.
