Mayur Shekhar Jha, Founder of Newsd, was felicitated at Vidyapati Bhavan, Jharkhand, on Sunday, July 3.  The chief guest of the event was BJP MP from Godda constituency Nishikant Dubey. Other local BJP members attended the event as well. Congress district president Deepika Pandey Singh was the special guest of the event. Jha is from Thakurgangti block in Godda, Jharkhand.  He was felicitated for his social work in Jharkhand and his service to journalism.

Speaking at the event, chief guest Dubey said he will open a new library and a separate hall at the Bhavan for the people. He said, “People at Vidyapati Bhavan demanded funding for a library, so I have committed to provide all the books in the library.” Regarding Newsd, Dubey congratulated Jha, saying, “At the young age of 34, he has achieved great heights in launching Newsd, and soon Newscode. We welcome him in Jharkhand, and will help him out in every possible way.”

Separately, Jha announced that he will provide free higher education to six students every year, three boys and three girls. These students will be chosen on merit by a panel of eminent personalities from Godda district. “Education helped me access an array of possibilities. I want to provide education to the people of my district to help them open their eyes. I want to do my bit for the community,” Jha said. “It is a pleasure to be facilitated at my home town. I will do everything in my capacity to help Godda reach new heights.”
