The recent gossips from the Television screen suggest that iconic detective series, CID, is going off air from October 27. The news was confirmed by Dayanand Shetty, who plays the role of Daya in the show.
After since the news broke out, fans have been upset that the iconic show that has been running for 21 years will come to an end now and so abruptly. However, the team gave an answer to that.
“We were in our 21st year and had we shot for a few more episodes, we would have entered our 22nd year. It is quite an unfortunate thing to happen as we were shooting like always and suddenly we were informed by our producer that the shooting has been called off indefinitely because there were issues with the channel,” said Dayanand.
He adds, “I am going to miss the character, but we feel sad for the audience as they enjoyed the show and it was doing well. The entire cast and crew is very dedicated towards their work and we are like a big happy family. We are going to miss each other as this was our second home.”
CID has completed over 1546 episodes. It is bankrolled by BP Singh and Pradeep Uppoor under the banner of Fireworks Productions.
According to several media reports, the changing time slot was one of the reasons for the show’s falling TRP from past few month.
