Notices for not returning study loans sent to over 22,000 Bihar students

An official claims that the BSFC has identified 22,849 pupils who have found employment across a range of industries.

More than 22,000 students who were now employed but refused to repay loan sums they had obtained for their education have received notifications from the Bihar State Finance Corporation (BSFC).

An official claims that the BSFC has identified 22,849 pupils who have found employment across a range of industries. The district BSFC was instructed by the state headquarters to take action against the violators, and as a result, the officials gave them notices.

There are up to 1,889 criminals from the Patna district. In addition to Patna, 1150 students from Araria, 925 from Samastipur, 873 from Muzaffarpur, 866 from Gaya, and 823 from Supaul district have not paid the corporation back the money owed.

After receiving district BSFC permission, the students had borrowed money under a unique programme of the Bihar government called the Bihar Student Credit Card Policy (BSCCP).

Under this program, students are allowed to borrow money for their studies and return it to the lender interest-free once they find jobs.

Also, BSFC enables students who have borrowed money for their studies and found employment a year to pay it back in installments.

Moreover, BSFC provides resources for students who completed their exams but were unable to find employment when their study period was ended. Every six months, these students must submit online declarations to the BSFC. 4312 pupils have submitted affidavits to the BSFC so far under the same heading.
