This case has raised the eyebrows of many. The couple was in deep poverty, that’s why the woman had to take such a drastic step.

Dukha Naik, the husband of Jhili Naik, had sustained critical injuries on his leg in a road accident three months ago according to Sambad. Due to a lack of proper treatment, his condition got worse and the injury went into a life-threatening stage.

The wife, Jhili Naik is currently the only earning member of the family. She works as a labourer besides carrying the burden of treating her husband.

Jhili mortgaged her 5-month-old son to her elder sister for Rs 10,000 for the purpose of buying medicine and treatment for her husband
