In Odisha’s Titlagarh a shocking case has come in front of authorities as an under-trial prisoner (UTP) allegedly tricked the woman inmate after making a physical relationship with her at Titlagarh sub-jail in Bolangir district. The undertrial prisoner promised to marry her.
On December 19, the woman was released from jail and on the same day, she lodged a complaint against the accused in the Titlagarh police station. Titilagarh SDPO Surendra Nath Satapathy confirmed to Orissa Post.
The woman was in jail after she was arrested on charges of domestic violence against her husband and in-laws. She was in jail for around 45 days and was released after the court granted her bail.
The accused Tirthankar Putel was in jail for over a year after his arrest in a case of GST Fraud.
Woman prisoner stated in FIR that Putel made physical relation with her on the pretext of marriage. She added that two staffers of jail and a person working at ADJ Court were aware of this situation.
The woman also has the call recordings with the accused on her phone. The woman also visited him at regular intervals in the jail but after some time he suddenly started avoiding her.
