Regional Meteorological Centre in Odisha has ordered heavy rainfall and thunderstorm warning as the state may witness showers for some more days as the withdrawal of monsoon is yet to begin in the State.
The department predicts that lightning is likely to lash as many as 12 districts of the state today.
As quoted in the reports, a spokesperson from the regional Meteorological Centre said that, “Thunderstorm and lightning will occur in districts like Bhadrak, Bolangir, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Nabrangapur, Nayagarh, Nuapada and Puri. Light to moderate rainfall is also likely in one or two places of these districts.”
Such weather condition is likely to prevail between 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm today, the weathermen said, adding that the weather will be sunny in most parts of the State after two days. After the withdrawal of monsoon, there is possibility of onset of winter in the State, it added.
