OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition: India's first 10GB RAM smartphone

OnePlus has become the first company to launch a smartphone with 10GB of RAM in India. The company has named the device as the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, as the name suggests, the company launched the smartphone in partnership with McLaren Racing Limited, the British manufacturer of the luxury car maker.

At a price of Rs 50,999, this is the most expensive OnePlus phone to be ever launched in India.

Starting from December 15, it will be available for sale on Amazon.in and OnePlus online stores. So, here is everything you need to know about the new OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition with 10GB of RAM.

The device possesses various similar features to the OnePlus 6T phone having a 6.41-inch AMOLED (2340×1080) display, with 157.5 x 74.8 x 8.2mm dimensions. The Snapdragon 845 processor, a 16MP primary camera with a f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization and a 20MP secondary camera with the same aperture, a 16MP selfie camera.

The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is similar to the regular OnePlus 6T, barring a few notable changes. The device comes with the signature McLaren colour, Papaya Orange apart from the McLaren branding at the back and the McLaren’s carbon fiber technology can be seen underneath the back glass panel. OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition features 10GB RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage, the only variation of the special edition.

OnePlus is also introducing its users with a new technology called ‘Wrap Charge’ which allows the phone to get a full charge of battery life in just 20 minutes, although the battery is still 3700mAh.

The new McLaren edition also sports the in-display fingerprint sensor which is called ‘Screen Lock’, and it runs Android 9.0 based on OxygenOS 9.

Games load faster on the Oneplus 6T McLaren Edition due to game boost. However, it runs the same Snapdragon 845 processor which only meant to support a maximum of 8GB of RAM, so OnePlus had to do some PCBA-level software changes on the Snapdragon 845 in association with Qualcomm, to enable support for 10GB of RAM.

OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will also be made available exclusively starting December 13 at the new OnePlus Experience Store in Connaught Place, New Delhi.
