Loktantrik Janata Dal supports ‘Bharat Bandh’ on September 10, called by all the opposition parties. Party national general secretary Arun Shrivastava speaking exclusively with Newsd has supported the ‘Bandh’ called by Congress.

He said, “The NDA ruled central government led by BJP has failed the people’s expectation and there is a sense of insecurity in our society. There is an atmosphere of terror and fear among the minorities and poor people specially from backward community. This government is terrorizing the people by giving a free hand to the Hindutva outfits and they are creating such environment of unease. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed in keeping the people’s aspiration of good governance. This united call of opposition is to remind this fascist government of the promise that were made before the election by the prime minister.”

He said that this govt came in power by promising there will be action on price rise and see for yourself what has happened? Essential food commodities prices are increasing day-by-day. Petrol diesel price is on a record high. And rupees value is on all time low against the US dollar.

There are incidents of mob lynching every day by the Hindutva organisations shielded by the BJP. There has been no action against any such organisations by the BJP ruled state governments. Students, Dalit activists are being targeted and those who are social activists and human rights activists are being targeted for raising their voices against the govt.

He also said that the govt had made around 42 election promises to fulfil but nothing has happened to them. There are no new opportunities for employment, forget the 2 crore annual jobs to youth promise of Modi.

When asked where he will be on September 10 during the ‘Bandh’, he said that he will be in Lucknow and leading the strike, but our national president Sharad Yadav will be in Delhi and lead the charge.
