The most talked film at a point of time “Oru Adaar” has failed to rope big numbers on the box office but it surely gained attention because of overnight internet sensation Priya Prakash Varrier. No doubt the film was indeed lucky for the actress. The wink video made her the national crush of the country.
The actress was made the female lead in the film after her wink went viral on the internet and people started appreciating the actress and her looks. The producer of the film asked the director to make her the leading lady.
But the revelation that was made by the director was that she was not the first choice as the lead.
In an interview, Omar Lulu said that “When the song (Manikya Malaraya Poovi) became a huge hit, I insisted the producer that the film should be made with good quality. At this moment, producers of both the Malayalam and Telugu versions asked me to make the movie with Priya Prakash in the lead. Earlier, the theme of the movie was very different. Initial storyline of the movie was about a young couple who gets murdered. But things did not work, as producers asked me to make a movie in a different manner by highlighting Priya.”
He also revealed that actress Noorin Shereef who was also part of the film was much more deserving and a better performer than Priya Varrier.
There are also reports that the director is not in talking terms with the actress and Noorin Shereef was supposed to be the first choice of the film.
Actress Noorin Shareef in an interview has also expressed disappointment on being replaced. She said “I was actually very happy when Omar Lulu selected me as the heroine in the movie. But as Priya Prakash Varrier’s wink went viral, makers changed the entire storyline of the movie, and my character was a bit sidelined. I actually felt very disappointed when my character lost its importance as this was my first offer to act in the lead role.”
Oru Adaar Love helmed by Omar Lulu also starred Roshan Abdul Rahoo & Noorin Shereef in pivotal roles.
