Sapaks who supported the bandh against SC/ST Act in Madhya Pradesh is to contest elections over all the 230 seats in the state. Sapaks convener Dr Hiralal Trivedi has questioned, “How can the government call 78 per cent of the people on the SC/ST Act issue a terrorist?” People from all strata of the society live together. There will be instances of clashes because of difference in ideas and opinions but a particular section of society cannot be bailed in the SC/ST Act. We are not against SC/ST Act, we just want the Act to be implemented in the form of exactly what was implemented in 1989”.
“We are not against reservation. It is true that the children of the President, MPs, officers do not need reservation. Such people should not get reservation which is powerful. Only one person should get the benefit once. At the same time, only one per cent of the SC/ST students are benefitting from this,” said the Sapaks convener Hiralal Trivedi.
