Here’s why PAN-Aadhaar linking is important before March 31

The government on Sunday extended the deadline for linking PAN with Aadhaar by 6 months till 30 September, official statement read.

Earlier the date to link the Aadhar card with pan card was 31st March 2019 but now the board has extended the date and given more time to the people to get it linked.

Experts reveal that if you will not link your pan cards with Aadhar then you will not be able to file online ITR and can affect your tax refund as the pan card will stand invalid.

To link your Aadhar through the website, you can log on to the website (www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in) and click the option which says link Aadhar. If you don’t have the account you can register there or can simply log in the account. After logging in you would see a blue strip which says profile setting and there you will find the option of linking your Aadhar card. Then fill the required details like Aadhar number and click link other. That will link your Aadhar with pan card.

The linkage can be also done through mobile by using your SMS service provider. The income tax department has told that by sending an SMS on 567678 or 56161 you can simply get your Aadhar card linked to the Pan card.
