In a latest exclusive exposé by a team of News24 reporters, a big pan-India kidney racket has been exposed. The reports further state Delhi as the hub of the illegal kidney transplant. After the undercover operation, the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police is questioning doctors of a renowned Hospital and has not ruled out their involvement in the racket.

While the Police are interrogating the doctors for their alleged involvement, 6 kidney pedlers (including a woman) have been arrested by the Crime Branch after the News24 exposé on May 25. The reports further elaborated that the racket indulged a well-functioning network of kidney sellers who work on contact basis with precautions to avoid being caught.

This 40-day long under-cover project was supported and protected by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police. The arrests were made after several hours of scanning videos with the team of reporters.

While what was scarier about this racket is the reach of the group who also managed to forge Aadhaar card birth certificate, school certificate and DNA report to prove that the decoy donor was the son of the recipient.

The involvement of doctors and their links with the kidney pimps are under scanner. One member of the panel of doctors actually briefed the trap donor about the questions that the panel will ask and also told him what answers to give. During his interaction with the panel, the decoy donor deliberately gave a wrong answer. The panel ignored the answer and gave green signal to the transplant.

Notably, the team was acting on the suspicion of a man who contacted News 24 informing them about the mass-level racket of kidney selling. Once the media house was convinced they started with the project which later exposed one of the biggest medical scams of India.

After the expose, the Delhi Police’s Crime Branch had gathered enough evidence of a flourishing kidney racket. Police suspect that some international players may also be involved in this kidney racket.
