Recently, confirmations have flooded in directly from the main cast and crew, promising eager fans that their beloved series will be back just with a little wait.
Panchayat Season 5 Confirmation
Actress Sanvikaa (Rinki) has revealed during interviews in the last few weeks that Season 5 is coming. She teased that the team is hoping to start filming by late 2025 or early 2026. This gives a mid-to-late 2026 premiere on Prime Video as the most optimistic best-case scenario. The season isn’t fully scripted or directed, of course, but prolific writer Chandan Kumar has already revealed that it’s almost done, making it more likely than not that production is moving full-steam ahead.

As for cast, the familiar faces from Phulera will be back. Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi, Neena Gupta as Manju Devi, Raghubir Yadav as Brij Bhushan Dubey (Pradhan Ji) and Sanvikaa as Rinki, are all slated to return. Joining them are fan-favorites Faisal Malik (Prahlad), Chandan Roy (Vikas) and Durgesh Kumar (Bhushan), and Sunita Rajwar (Kranti Devi), whose character, as the new Pradhan of Phulera, has since moved to the center of the scrum. As far as the storyline, we hope it continues right from the end of Season 4. With Kranti Devi beating the sitting Manju Devi in the recent panchayat election, the village’s male-centric power dynamic has changed profoundly. Just like in Phulera, this time, the powers of administration which for centuries were under the unquestionable iron fist of the Dubey clan are now up for grabs, creating plenty of new turf war intrigues and character development. What once was a quiet enmity between Bhushan and the Pradhan family now dominates this unfolding saga, it is Kranti Devi’s style of leadership that will first command the spotlight.
The other big plotline that the viewers are all waiting for is the change in dynamics between Abhishek and Rinki. Despite an electric Season 4 that suggested a large amount of emotional subtext and romance to come. Personally, I’m hoping to see the arc continued in Season 5, as the creators have apparently confirmed it was deliberately left open! Whether Abhishek remains in Phulera, or makes it through his exams at last to move forward, is a story still to be told that will surely propel much of the emotional current of next season.
Beyond this greater focus on the interplay of personal relationships, we hope to see Panchayat Season 5 explore even more deeply the realities that surround rural governance. With Kranti Devi and Bhushan leading the way, audiences will experience a fight between power and morality, and see how the now-divided village adapts to its newly elected leaders. That poignant mix of levity and realism that allows the show to address heavy topics such as political corruption, loss, and joblessness while still being funny is what makes the show special and it’s what fans are wishing for as Season 5 approaches.

What has been revealed so far?
While little has been disclosed on the technical front, early indications are that much of the same creative team headed by director Deepak Kumar Mishra and writer Chandan Kumar will be back, maintaining uniformity in tone and story. Given that previous seasons have taken roughly 1.5 to 2 years from production to release, a 2026 premiere seems right in line with where we are with everything. All of this means that production schedules may still be affected by the success and reception of Season 4, and with that season reportedly performing extremely well on Prime Video, we can still hold out hope.
This time around, Panchayat Season 5 isn’t just about seeing the story go on it’s about witnessing a village’s transformation, a political makeover and the blossoming of the characters we’ve all grown to cherish. From the arid humor of Vikas, to the stoic resolve of Prahlad, to the impressive conundrum that is Abhishek and his never-ending conflict between aspiration and association, the sequel is proving to be a classic in the making. So even though there’s no new trailer or teaser available just yet, fans can take comfort in knowing that the wheels are turning in Phulera and the story is just beginning.
