“Parties with opposing ideologies, cannot form stable govt”, says Governor Malik

In a major political development on Wednesday, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik dissolved the state assembly.  After two senior state leaders, Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference leader Sajad Lone and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti staked claim to form the government in the state, Satya Pal Malik took the step.

Governor Satya Pal Malik justifying the above move said that parties in the state made ‘an attempt to gain power rather than to form a responsive government’. He opined that the formation of a stable new government in the state was an impossibility as parties with opposing political ideologies including some which have been demanding the dissolution of the assembly, were coming together.

During an interview with a TV news channel,  Governor said that there was horse trading to secure the support of the MLAs.
