Patient refused treatment despite having Ayushman card, told to get money from PM Modi

Modi government launched Ayushman Bharat Scheme aims to provide better health benefits to the poor people of the country. While many beneficiaries of the this scheme were treated for free, there has been a major negligence associated with Ayushman Bharat Scheme in medical college of Lucknow.

In a recent shocking incident, a man alleged that despite having an Ayushman Bharat card, his relative was refused treatment at King George’s Medical University in Lucknow. The patient and his family members were told by the doctors to go to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi instead and get money for the treatment.

The patient and his family members had reportedly come to the hospital all the way from Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The victim was identified as 28-year-old Kamlesh and had reportedly electrocuted himself three days. He was rushed to the district hospital from where he was referred to KGMU.

Tilhar MLA Roshan Lal also expressed displeasure with the KGMU administration over the matter. He said that he would raise the issue in the Legislative Assembly, Navbharat Times reported.

Meanwhle, Santosh Kumar, the media in charge of the university simply refuting the claims told news reporting agency ANI that they were among the first hospitals to have implemented the scheme of Ayushman Bharat. He added that he personally went there and no matter as such came to be found.
