Patna: BSP leader Jitendra Singh shot dead by unidentified men; probe underway

In a sudden turn of events, just a day before the nation was ready to caste their votes for the Lok Sabha Polls, a Bahujan Samaj Party member Jitendra Singh was shot dead by a few unidentified men in broad daylight in Bihar’s Bihata area.

As per the reports, the incident took place near the Rambagh College on late Tuesday night when Jitendra was returning back to his home. After firing at Jitendra, the miscreants fled away from the spot while the victim died right away.

Jitendra Singh, resident of Kishnpur of Bihata, was the BSP treasurer of Bihta block. Along with this, he was a land trader, and used to work on contract in the municipal corporation.

The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when the locals spotted Jitendra lying dead. Upon receiving the information, Police reached the spot and tried to calm and control the panic.

The body was sent for the port mortem. Meanwhile the police has launched investigation in the case.
