All you need to know about the Vande Bharat Express launching on 8th April

Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express: South-Eastern Railways (SER) officials have reported that the first Vande Bharat Express in Jharkhand is expected to commence service between Ranchi and Patna by the end of May. Initially, it was believed that the train would commence on April 25. However, the introduction has been delayed due to technical difficulties.

A senior railway official stated that preparations for the operational launch have been completed and that they are awaiting a formal communication from the Railway Board.

The train will travel between Ranchi and Patna in approximately six hours, which is a significant improvement for the corridor as trains currently operating between the stations take over nine hours to make the same trip.

Unlike the Janshatabdi Express, which travels via the Bokaro-Muri and Hazaribagh road from Gaya to Ranchi, the Vande Bharat train from Patna to Ranchi will also stop at Hazaribagh Town, Tatisilwai, Barkakana, Koderma, Gaya, and Jehanabad.

The Ranchi railway division will maintain the Vande Bharat train at its Hatia depot. The railways are contemplating operating the train along the Tantisilwai-Barkakana-Hazaribagh-Koderma route, although there has been no official word on the route.

Ranchi and Patna passengers eagerly anticipate the arrival of the domestic semi-high-speed train. Although no official announcement has been made, it is likely that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will signal off the train.

  • The Patna to Ranchi Vande Bharat train will most likely stop in Hazaribagh Town, Tatisilwai, Barkakana, Koderma, Gaya, and Jehanabad.
  • According to reports, two distinct schedules have been proposed for the Vande Bharat trains operating between Ranchi and Patna. However, the Railway Board has not yet released an official statement.
  • In Patna, this train will be maintained at Rajendra Nagar Terminal, whereas in Ranchi, it will be maintained at Hatia.
  • There has been no official announcement regarding the train’s launch date and fares.

The Vande Bharat Express, an eight-coach train capable of attaining speeds of 180 kilometres per hour, has been operating on 14 routes across the country and is gaining popularity among commuters, who frequently choose the train over flights.
