Petrol and diesel prices in India: Factors affecting them

Petrol and diesel prices are directly affected by crude oil prices, since crude oil is the primary raw material for these fuels.

  • Gas and oil prices are affected by the exchange rate between the Indian rupee and the US dollar since India receives a lot of crude oil.

  • The federal tax breaks given to different states have raised the price of oil and gasoline.

  • Gasoline and oil costs can also be determined by how much people want them. If more people want them, they might be more expensive.
