It’s been only two days since the trailer release of Vivek Oberoi starrer PM Narendra Modi biopic, and the film is already involved in multiple controversies. The latest one includes lyricist Sameer and song writer Javed Akhtar refusing their involvement in songs for the film.

The Vivek Oberoi starrer biopic’s trailer released few days ago. The film’s posters credited, celebrated lyricists Sameer, Javed Akhtar and Prasoon Joshi for penning songs for the film. Seeing their names in credit roll, the two were shocked and immediately refused their involvement, sparking a row in the industry.

A day after Sameer’s statement, the producer of the film Sandeep Ssingh has come out to clarify why the names of veteran lyricists have been added to his movie.

According to Sandeep, he added the film as a courtesy to taking rights of their songs ‘Ishwar Allah’ and ‘Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walon’ respectively. The movie has partnered with T-Series, who hold rights for both the songs.

He tweeted, “We have taken the songs ‘Ishwar Allah’ from the film ‘1947:Earth’ and the song ‘Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walon’ from the film ‘Dus’ in our film, thus we have given the due credits to respective lyricists Javed Sahab and Sameer Ji. @TSeries is our Music partner. @ModiTheFilm2019”.


Directed by Omung Kumar, ‘PM Narendra Modi’ the film will traverse the journey of Narendra Damodardas Modi from his humble beginnings to his years as Chief Minister onto his landmark win at the 2014 election and finally being nominated as the Prime Minister of India.

The biopic starring Vivek Oberoi is slated to release on April 5.
