PM Modi held fruitful talks with Xi Jinping; leaves for Myanmar

Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi said he held “fruitful talks” with Chinese President, Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit on Tuesday. “Met President Xi Jinping. We held fruitful talks on bilateral relations between India and China,” PM tweeted after their meeting.

“Healthy and stable relations” between the two neighbours were in line with the fundamental interests of their people” said Chinese president.

“China is willing to work with India on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence (Panchsheel) to improve political mutual trust, promote mutually beneficial cooperation and push Sino-Indian ties along a right track,” Xi said.

PM Modi also thanked Chinese government and the people for their “warm hospitality” during the three-day BRICS Summit. He said he was leaving for Myanmar.
