Despite the severe chill in bilateral relations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday greeted his Pakistani counter part Nawaz Sharif on his birthday.
“Birthday wishes to Pakistan PM Mr. Nawaz Sharif. I pray for his long and healthy life,” Modi tweeted.
Sharif turned 67 on Sunday.

Last year on this day, Modi had travelled to Lahore on an unscheduled visit to wish Sharif personally and also attended the marriage ceremony of Sharif’s kin.
India-Pakistan relation worsened after a terror attack on the airbase in Pathankot on January 2016.
Modi and Sharif have had a stop-start diplomatic relationship since the Indian premier’s surprise invitation to Sharif to his inauguration in May 2014
