PM Modi’s 75th Birthday Celebration: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will turn 75 on Tuesday, September 17, and the BJP is getting ready with big celebrations across the country. The party wants to mark the day not with just cake or flowers but with programmes that reach people directly. Assam BJP chief Dilip Saikia shared that they are preparing blood donation camps, the Namo Marathon, cultural exhibitions, seminars, and even a film screening on Modi’s life.
He said that Modi is not only the leader of the country but also the “Pradhan Sevak,” and the idea is to celebrate his birthday in a way that connects with people’s hearts.

The BJP calls this day Sewa Diwas, or the Day of Service. This year, the celebration will stretch for two whole weeks, from September 17 to October 2. The timing is special because it also covers the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
The party is calling it Sewa Pakhwada, and during this time, volunteers and leaders will take part in activities that focus on service, like cleaning drives, health camps, exhibitions, and helping people with disabilities by giving them assistive devices. The Ministry of Culture is also planning a painting competition with themes like “Viksit Bharat,” “Atmanirbhar Bharat,” and “Digital India.”
Sewa Pakhwada Activities
Blood donation camps
On September 17 itself, the first day, blood donation camps will happen in over 1,000 districts. After that, from September 18 to October 2, similar camps will be held at the Mandal level, along with cleanliness drives at places like schools, railway stations, hospitals, bus stands, temples, parks, riversides, and even historical sites.
Namo Yuva Run
The BJP youth wing Yuva Morcha will also hold the Namo Yuva Run across 75 cities, where each event is expected to see more than 10,000 participants.
Preparations for all this have already started, with district-level workshops happening earlier in September and Mandal-level workshops just before the celebrations. There will also be special events like a drone show in Pune, a big tree plantation drive in Odisha where they plan to plant 75 lakh saplings, and a Modi Vikas Marathon.
Sports fests and drawing competitions are also part of the programme. BJP national general secretary Sunil Bansal has been given the role of convener for Sewa Pakhwada, and he has been holding workshops with leaders to make sure everything goes smoothly.
Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat campaign
Union Minister Bhupender Yadav and Bansal also said that on September 25, which is Deendayal Upadhyaya Jayanti, the BJP will launch the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat campaign that will keep going till December 25.
15 projects
In Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch 15 projects, including new hospital blocks, more than 100 Arogya Mandir, and 150 dialysis centres. This event will be held at Thyagraj Stadium on September 17. Alongside, the Delhi government will also start some new infrastructure projects under the Sewa Pakhwada, like new car parks at GK and Punjabi Bagh, the Nand Nagari flyover, and even a long-pending foot overbridge for Rajputana Rifles.

Modi’s Way of Celebrating
Narendra Modi was born as Narendra Damodardas Modi in Mehsana, Gujarat. Before becoming Prime Minister, he served as Chief Minister of Gujarat for three terms from 2001 to 2014. Now, he is serving as Prime Minister for the third time. Unlike many leaders who might spend birthdays with personal gatherings, Modi usually marks the day by being with people. he has launched schemes and joined service activities instead of personal celebrations.
This year also, reports suggest that Modi will inaugurate a big textile park in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar on September 17. He is also expected to visit Bihar during the Pitru Paksha Mela in Gayaji, a large spiritual fair where lakhs of devotees gather, though this is not officially confirmed yet.
