Pooja Shakun Pandey who shot at Gandhi effigy arrested from Delhi

In a statement released by Aligarh Police, SSP Akash Kulhary shared that a case has been filed against Puja Shakun Pandey, her husband and 12 unknown under section 147, 148, 149, 295(a), 153(a) IPC. Arresting is yet to take place in the incident.

SSP said, “Today Puja Shakun Pandey, her husband Ashok Pandey and 10-12 others in their home created a video. In the video, they were shooting Gandhiji’s effigy with an air rifle after which it was incinerated.”

The shocking incident took place in Aligarh on January 30 where the Hindu Mahasabha’s national secretary Puja Shakun Pandey shot Bapu’s effigy using an artificial gun, following which ‘blood’ oozed out of the effigy.

Pandey was also captured garlanding the statue of Nathuram Godse and she even distributed sweets among her supporters.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was fondly known as “Father of Nation”, was not just a leader but also a visionary. Mahatma Gandhi, the man who led India to freedom from the oppressive British colonial rule, was assassinated on January 30, 1948, at the age of 78. Nathuram Godse, a Hindu fanatic, was found guilty of murdering him and was executed the following year.
