The voting for the 51 assembly constituencies which includes 11 districts of Uttar Pradesh, began on Monday at 7 am. These constituencies up for voting include Ayodhya, Amethi, Sultanpur, Bahraich and Shravasti. However, the first phase of voting for Uttar Pradesh began on February 11. The elections are expected to complete on March 8 with the closing of the seventh phase. The counting of votes for the state will take place on March 11.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said Sunday that the SP-Congress alliance between two youth leaders would change the course of politics at the national and state levels.
