“Post #KarwaChauth selfie, will build toilets under Swachh Bharat Mission”, says Sambhal SDM

In a bid to boost the cleanliness in area under the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Sambhal Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dipendra Yadav come up with a unique and fun idea.

The SDM has launched a campaign on the occasion of Karwa Chauth under which he has urged residents to post a ‘#KarwaChauth selfie’ and the people in his jurisdiction whoever posts a selfie will stand a chance to get a toilet built at their home, if their photo is selected.

Going by the reports, in an official communication, Yadav said that the residents should send their selfies to Sambhal District Panchayat Officer, Executive Officer officer, Municipal Corporation and Block Development officer.

Yadav further added that selfies will be identified and the residents who can not afford to build toilets on their on expense, will be provided the same under Swachh Bharat Mission.

Karwa Chauth is a Hindu festival of married women as they observe nirjala fast and don’t consume food or water for the whole day. The fast is kept for the long life of their husbands and is celebrated mostly in northern states of India.

Women of marriageable age also observe the fast and these days many husbands have also started observing the fast with their wives for their well being.
