In a shocking incident, a pregnant woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur city was allegedly asked to leave by the hospital employees in the middle of the night. Following the incident she had to give birth to a baby in an e-rickshaw.

Munawar, who was in labour, was admitted to the district women’s hospital on the night of 14 August. She was later asked to leave the hospital without being examined, SP Saharanpur (Rural) Vidya Sagar Mishra said on Wednesday.

She gave birth in the vehicle when her husband was taking her to another hospital. She was then admitted to a private hospital later.

Munawar’s husband has already filed a complaint with the police against the hospital demanding action, Mishra said. A case was lodged in Janapuri police station and the matter is being probed, he added.
