A year after she took the internet by storm with her wink in a Malayalam film Oru Adaar Love’s romantic track, Priya Prakash Varrier has again created headlines, not exactly for good reasons through.
The actress is all set to take her first step in Bollywood by making her debut with Prasanth Mambully’s film ‘Sridevi Bungalow’, however the film seems to be in trouble, as Boney Kapoor has send sending a legal notice to the makers.
Recently a teaser of the film ‘Sridevi Bungalow’ was launched which has an uncanny resemblance with late actress Sridevi’s life-incidents. The teaser traces an actress (played by Priya) leading to her death in a bathtub, which is quite similar to Sridevi’s death due to accidental drowning in real life last year.
Minutes after the release of the teaser, the makers were flaked. Late actress Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor sent the legal notice to the filmmakers. In response to the Boney’s action, director Mambully told Cinestaan, “We received a legal notice from Mr Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. My film is a suspense thriller. I told him (Boney Kapoor) that Sridevi is a common name. My film’s character also happens to be an actress. We will face it (the legal case).”
Not only Mambully but Priya also refused to accept or deny whether her film is based on the life of late super-star, Sridevi.
With the film getting embroiled in the controversy even before the release, we wonder what will happen next.
