In a horrific incident, reported from Kapurthala in Punjab where a 24-year-old woman was gang-raped by 10 men on two instances on the same night. Police said the majority of the accused were known to the woman. The woman was exploited in Lakhanpur Khole and Dayalpur villages of Kapurthala district on October 10 and 4 out of 10 accused have been arrested by police and 6 are still absconding.
The victim told police that, five months ago, she met a drug addict Bholu and later, he introduced her to a drug peddler Sonu, who further included her into drug peddling rackets.
The woman rented a room from Sonu’s friend Siri, who organised a birthday party at his home and invited his friends on October 10, where Siri along with his friends’ gang-raped her. After the incident, the woman took shelter in the house of her acquaintance, named Satpal Singh.
However, Satpal along with his friends Sukhwinder Singh, Ravinder Singh and Kulwinder Singh gang-raped her. All these accused work as security guards in a local industrial unit. Next morning, she went to Subhanpur police station to file a complaint against the accused. The medical examination confirmed that she was assaulted by the accused.
