May 2021 it was, when the makers of Pushpa confirmed that the movie will be released as two separate films.
The director of Pushpa 2 had earlier stated that the movie was originally planned to be a web series.
The second instalment of the movie will be in continuation of the first part and will largely focus on giving the audience closure to Pushpa’s life.

The script for the second part has already been locked and the shooting will commence in February 2022.

If the movie premiers in December this year, it can be expected that it might get released on Amazon Prime by January 2023.
