The director of Road, Rajat Mukherjee passed away after a prolonged illness. It must be noted that Road was produced by Ram Gopal Varma.
Talking about Road, the film released in 2002 and starred Vivek Oberoi and Antara Mali in the lead roles. Apart from that, Rajat has directed Urmila Matondkar, Fardeen Khan and Sonali Kulkarni starrer Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya which released in 2001.
Actor Manoj Bajpayee confirmed the sad news on his Twitter page. He wrote, “My friend and director of Road, Rajat Mukherjee passed away in the early hours today in Jaipur after a long battle with illness!!! Rest in peace Rajat !! Still can’t believe that we will never meet or discuss our work ever again.khush reh jaha bhi reh.”

Earlier, in a post, Darshan Sankhala shared a photo with Rajat earlier this year. Darshan hinted about Rajat making a web series. However, the formal announcement of the same hasn’t been done yet.
