In a yet another scathing attack on Bharatiya Janata Party, the Congress president Rahul Gandhi took a dig at Delhi University Students Union president Ankiv Basoya who recently resigned from the DUSU post after being accused of having a fake degree.

Demanding fresh elections and simultaneously slamming his rivals from Bharatiya Janata Party, Rahul Gandhi took to his official Twitter account and posted an image featuring Ankiv Basoya, Smriti Irani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the caption underneath reading ‘Fake Degree is in BJP’s DNA.’

In his tweet, Gandhi said, “shree chhappan aur unake mantriyon ne chhaatron ko  dikhaaya hai ki bhaajapa mein mantreemandal ka sheeghr dvaar farzee digree dikha kar khulata hai. Shaikshik sansthaanon par prahaar aur farzee digree vaalon ko satta par bithaana rss ka puraana siddhaant hai. Islie du par rss ka farjikal straik jaaree hai.”

(English Translation: Shri Chappan and his ministers have shown to the students that the entrance of the cabinet in the BJP opens by showing fake degree. It’s an old practice of RSS to bring fake degree holders into power.)

It was NSUI, the student wing of the Indian National Congress, which had released a picture of Basoya’s mark sheet from Thiruvalluvar University and called it fake.

Basoya had submitted his UG degree from Thiruvalluvar University for admission to an MA programme (Buddhist Studies) at Delhi University (DU).

Later, the registrar of Thiruvalluvar University wrote a letter to Tamil Nadu’s principal secretary of education in which he declared that the newly elected DUSU president Ankiv Basoya was not enrolled in the university.

NSUI has now demanded their candidate Sunny Chhillar be declared as the DUSU President with immediate effect.
