The Ministry of Railways on Wednesday gave its nod to m-Aadhar as one of the prescribed identity proofs for rail travel purpose in any reserved class.
Launched by UIDAI. m- Aadhar is a mobile app, through which a person can download his/her Aadhar Card.
It can only be done on the mobile number to which Aadhar has been linked and the person has to open the app and enter his/ her password to show the Aadhar Card.
When shown by the passenger, the app would be accepted as a proof of the identity for undertaking journey in any reserved class of the Indian Railways.
