Bhuj-Barauni Amrit Bharat Express: Indian Railways has approved a new Amrit Bharat Express that will connect Bhuj in Gujarat with Barauni in Bihar. The train will cover around 2,532 km and pass through Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. It will give passengers another direct rail option between the western and eastern parts of the country.
The new train will run three days a week in both directions. Train No. 19427 will leave Bhuj at 5:30 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. It will reach Barauni at 4:05 AM the next day.
For the return trip, Train No. 19428 will start from Barauni at 11:55 PM on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. It will reach Bhuj at 1:15 PM the following day. The Railway Ministry hasn’t announced the date when regular services will start yet.

The train will stop at many important stations on its long route. Some of the main commercial stoppages are Samakhiali, Ahmedabad, Ratlam, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City and Bharatpur.
In Uttar Pradesh, the service will stop at Mathura, Hathras, Bareilly, Izzatnagar, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur and Gonda. It will then continue through Gorakhpur, Siwan, Chhapra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur and Samastipur before reaching Barauni.
The Amrit Bharat train category was launched in 2023 and is mainly aimed at affordable long-distance travel. The trains use features such as semi-automatic couplers, fire detection systems, sealed gangways and talk-back units. The Bhuj-Barauni service is therefore expected to add a useful long-distance option for passengers across the four states.
Railways has also approved a change to Train Nos. 11901/11902, the Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi-Agra Cantt Express. The train will now continue up to Mathura instead of ending at Agra Cantt.
Its total route will become 270 km, up from 217 km earlier. Train No. 11901 will leave Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi at 4:00 PM and reach Mathura at 11:00 PM. The return train, No. 11902, will leave Mathura at 5:05 AM and arrive in Jhansi at 12:50 PM.

The extended section will have four commercial stops: Raja ki Mandi, Runkuta, Deen Dayal Dham and Baad.
“The extension will provide an additional train service between Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi and Mathura, offering greater convenience to passengers travelling between Jhansi, Agra and Mathura,” the Ministry of Railways said.
