The government on Sunday has promoted senior IPS officers, Rakesh Asthana and Gurbachan Singh as special directors of the central bureau of Investigation (CBI) and intelligence bureau (IB) respectively in a key bureaucratic reshuffle.
While officers Deepak Kumar Mishra and Sudeep Lakhtakia have been elevated as special DG in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Rajesh Ranjan and AP Maheshwari have been raised to the ranks of Special DG in the Border Security Force (BSF).
The promotion of these officers was announced by the ministry of personnel, public grievances, and pensions, department of personnel and training.
While Gurbachan was the additional director in IB earlier, Asthana was the additional director in CBI. Lakhtakia and Mishra were additional DG in CRPF and Ranjan and Maheshwari was additional DG in BSF.
