That book introduced readers to Sakuta and his meeting with Mai Sakurajima, a senior student who slowly becomes invisible to the world. This strange problem starts Sakuta’s path of helping others who suffer from similar unreal conditions. Over time, the series grew into 15 volumes. The final volume released on October 10, 2024, ending the story after 10 years. A short story collection followed in July 2025, giving fans extra moments with the characters.
The anime version started in 2018 with a TV series. After that came a movie in 2019, two more films in 2023, and another TV anime in Summer 2025.
