Ratan Tata’s Twitter account hacked; spurious tweet sent

On Friday a joke on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mukesh Ambani made by one of the popular parody account on Twitter ‘History of India’ was shared by none other than industrialist Ratan Tata. Twitterati was little amazed to see this as the business magnet is not very much active on the micro-blogging site.

Today Ratan Tata on his Twitter account said that his handle was hacked and a ‘spurious’ tweet with ‘malicious intent’ was sent. “This spurious tweet has now been deleted and my Twitter account restored. I regret the inconvenience that this malicious and wrongful action may have caused,” he tweeted.

A tweet of ‘History of India’ shared from Tata’s account showed Reliance Industries chief Mukesh Ambani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi together with the caption: Owner of Network 18 welcoming his employee to address people how cronies are going to halt inflation. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was also marked in the tweet.

‘History of India’ soon after this responded with a tweet, “Big folks are getting involved. We must be careful now onwards. PS ~ All the characters and incidents of @realhistorypic are imaginary.”

Ratan Tata who joined Twitter in 2011 has only 119 tweets.
